Strike one: narrative: I did this then that. Strike two: depressing could only stomach a few chapters. Strike three Sexual assault/rape of main character. This is not reading for enjoyment. I should have read this sooner![Possible spoilers below]The worlds and characters really came to life through the author's exceptional writing.Although, I find the relationship between modern-day characters to be quite weak and rushed so the build-up to the end was not strong enough (I think because the story was split into 2 timelines so there was not enough time for them).The ancient timeline is intriguing (and a bit trippy at times, I like it), and I'd love to know more about Lilitu if there's a chance.Overall, this is a great read, If not for work, I'd finish it in one day, highly recommend!
